“The Omni Difference.” Microsite for The Omni Clubs.
For Omni Health Clubs, I wrote the tagline “The Omni Difference,” then brought that line to life in copy for a web microsite starring personal trainers. Here are sample screencaps.
There’s enough worry in the world. You need less of it. “Worry Less” is the tagline I wrote for St. Andrew’s Resources for Seniors, a St. Louis-based leader in elder care. The line goes to core, human benefit of the excellent service St. Andrew’s provides.
St. Andrew’s embraced the “Worry Less” brand story and brought it to life in an ongoing, multi-media campaign, including brochures, wearables, website, social media, and a very nice Facebook page.
Above is one of the ads in the “Worry Less” print campaign, which uses ironic juxtaposition to make its point. Ah! May we all get around as good as Grandma when we get to be that age. Art director and designer: Chuck Hart. Photographer: David Stradal.
“Beat-Yourself-Up Hotline.” Funny radio commercial for website.
This funny radio commercial for website Smartship.com was a London International Advertising Award recipient. It’s also one of my personal favorites. I’m not sure why. Could it be Stewart Sloke’s wonderful performance as the beating-himself-up guy?
Radio Script: “Beat-Yourself-Up Hotline”
SFX: Telephone pick-up.
FEMALE HOTLINE WORKER: Beat-Yourself-Up Hotline.
FUNNY GUY: Is this the Beat-Yourself-Up Hotline?
HOTLINE WORKER: Yes, sir, if you’d like to beat yourself up, this is the place to do it.
FUNNY GUY: Okay, I’d like to beat myself up now, please.
HOTLINE WORKER: Go right ahead when you’re comfortable.
FUNNY GUY (clears throat and proceeds to beat himself up:) I am so stupid! I can’t believe how stupid I am! What an idiot! I left all of my holiday shipping until the last minute again! Now it’s a huge hassle! Why do I have to do this to myself every year? When, oh when, will I learn?
HOTLINE WORKER (impressed:) You beat yourself up very well, sir.
FUNNY GUY: Thanks.
HOTLINE WORKER: But maybe you should just log onto Smartship.com.
FUNNY GUY: Smartship.com?

HOTLINE WORKER: Sir, I… FUNNY GUY (builds to a crescendo:) When, oh when, will I learn? When will I ever have an original thought???

FUNNY GUY (humbly:) I’ve been told it’s a gift.
